7. Best Places to Eat in Arlington, Texas: Local Favorites Worth Knowing

If you spend much time in Arlington, you figure out pretty quickly that the food scene is better than a lot of people expect.

A lot of folks think of Arlington mainly for AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field, Texas Live!, and the Entertainment District, but there is a lot more here than game-day food and chain restaurants. Arlington’s tourism site leans heavily into its local restaurant scene, with dedicated guides for downtown favorites, food itineraries, and neighborhood dining.

Here are some of the best places to eat in Arlington if you want a mix of local staples, crowd favorites, and a few nicer spots that are actually worth knowing.

Hurtado Barbecue

If you are talking Arlington food, Hurtado Barbecue has to be part of the conversation. Arlington’s tourism content highlights it as one of the city’s notable barbecue stops, and even Tripadvisor forum chatter points to Hurtado as one of the best barbecue options in the area.

This is the kind of place that has become part of Arlington’s food identity. If somebody is in town and wants something that actually feels like Arlington and Texas at the same time, Hurtado is an easy recommendation.

Prince Lebanese Grill

Prince Lebanese Grill is one of those Arlington names that just keeps coming up for a reason. The city’s food-focused tourism pages feature it as part of Arlington’s standout local dining scene, and it has long had the kind of reputation that makes it feel more like an institution than just another restaurant.

What I like about recommending Prince is that it gives people something a little different. It is not the obvious stadium-area pick, and that is part of the point. It feels more local and more memorable.

Babe’s Chicken Dinner House

If you want comfort food and a place that feels fun, Babe’s belongs on the list. Arlington’s official foodie itinerary specifically calls it an Arlington institution and highlights it as a go-to for fried chicken and down-home cooking served family-style. Tripadvisor also ranks it among Arlington’s best-known restaurants.

This is one of those places that works especially well when you want something casual, filling, and easy to enjoy with a group.

Mariano’s Hacienda Ranch

Mariano’s is one of Arlington’s best-known Tex-Mex spots, and Tripadvisor currently places it near the top of Arlington restaurant rankings. OpenTable also lists it among notable Arlington restaurants worth considering.

It is a good reminder that Arlington has more than just trendy or newer places. Sometimes you want dependable Tex-Mex in a spot people already know and trust, and Mariano’s fits that role really well.

Restaurant506

For a nicer dinner, Restaurant506 is one of the stronger Arlington picks. Arlington’s own tourism site highlights it in a date-night itinerary, and OpenTable shows it with very strong diner ratings and booking activity in Arlington.

This is one of the places I would point to when somebody wants a more polished meal in Arlington without just defaulting to whatever is closest to the stadiums.

Cut & Bourbon

If you want Arlington’s more upscale side, Cut & Bourbon deserves a look. Tripadvisor currently ranks it at the top of Arlington fine-dining results, and Arlington’s tourism blog also recently included it in a roundup of refined dining in the city.

It is a strong option for date night, celebrations, or anytime you want dinner to feel a little more intentional.

Cane Rosso

Cane Rosso is another Arlington spot worth knowing, especially if you want pizza but still want it to feel like a real choice instead of an afterthought. OpenTable lists the Arlington location among the better-regarded options in the city.

Sometimes a city’s best restaurant list should include at least one place that is just reliably good and easy to recommend, and Cane Rosso fits that category.

Taste of Europe

One thing I like about Arlington is that it has some restaurants that give the city a little more range than people expect. Arlington’s tourism site specifically features Taste of Europe as part of its food coverage.

That is the kind of place that helps round out the Arlington food scene. It gives people something different from the usual steak, burgers, barbecue, and Tex-Mex rotation.

Fishbone Seafood or Pappadeaux for Seafood

If somebody asks where to go for seafood in Arlington, I usually think in two directions. If they want something local-feeling and more casual, Fishbone belongs in the conversation. If they want a better-known heavy hitter, Pappadeaux still gets plenty of attention in Arlington dining rankings. Tripadvisor’s current Arlington listings include Pappadeaux among the city’s better-known restaurant choices.

Arlington may not be the first city people think about for seafood, but there are still some solid options if that is what you are after.

So Where Should You Actually Go First?

I think that depends on what kind of meal you want.

If you want Arlington barbecue, start with Hurtado.
If you want a long-time local favorite, Prince Lebanese Grill is a strong pick.
If you want comfort food, Babe’s is hard to beat.
If you want Tex-Mex, Mariano’s is an easy answer.
If you want date night or something more upscale, look at Restaurant506 or Cut & Bourbon.

That is usually the better way to think about Arlington food anyway. Not “what is the one best restaurant,” but “what kind of meal am I actually looking for?”

Final Thoughts

Arlington’s food scene is deeper than a lot of people give it credit for. Yes, you have the big entertainment anchors, but you also have real local favorites, long-standing institutions, strong barbecue, good Tex-Mex, international options, and some surprisingly solid upscale dining too. Current Arlington tourism guides, Tripadvisor rankings, and OpenTable listings all point in that same general direction.

That is one of the things I like about Arlington. You can go casual, local, upscale, or somewhere in between without having to leave the city.
